Infant/Toddler

Brush Brush Brush by Alicia Padron This toddler-focused book is meant to help kids learn about the importance of dental habits. It uses cheerful pictures to demonstrate each step of brushing teeth, like putting toothpaste on the brush and rinsing with clean water.

 

Preschool

The Tooth Book by Dr. Seuss This Dr. Seuss-authored book is fun and whimsical, helping children understand what teeth do and how to care for them.

 

Elementary School

Open Wide: Tooth School Inside by Laurie Keller School is in, and the incoming class of 32 teeth are eager to learn! By putting the reader in the middle of “Tooth School,” this book seeks to educate elementary readers on both crucial and fun oral health facts.

 

Middle School

Smile by Raina Telgemeier This memoir brings the reader through the author’s journey of middle-school braces and headgear, as well as the typical pains and lessons that come with growing up.

 

High School – Adult

Teeth by Mary Otto This in-depth dive into America’s oral health system, perceptions and society from its very beginnings to present day has been on the top of booklists since its release in March, 2017.

Senior

Dying from Dirty Teeth by Angie Stone RDH Angie Stone published this book in 2015, and it has received much critical acclaim since then. The book explores oral health and its relation to other common conditions affecting seniors, with information on how to prevent problems in older age.
